Reeds developer documentation
The Reeds Shipping API lets your online store, marketplace, ERP or logistics platform book Reeds deliveries from your own systems. You save an address, get a price, book the delivery, and follow it to the door through webhooks.
Reeds is the courier, so a quote returns one Reeds service with one price. There is no list of couriers to choose from.
At a glance
| Where | Pickup and delivery across Lagos. Inter-state delivery is not available through the API. |
| Price | Per delivery, by road distance. fee.total includes 7.5% VAT. A quote holds its price for 24 hours. |
| Paying | Prepaid wallet (platforms: monthly invoice). Riders never collect cash. |
| When | Booked and ready before 13:45 Monday to Friday (11:45 on Saturday): delivered that day or the next working day. See Delivery promise. |
| What | One parcel up to 30 kg, longest side up to 120 cm. Covered up to its declared value, at most ₦50,000. See What Reeds carries. |
The core idea
Every integration follows the same four steps:
- Address.
POST /addressessaves a pickup and a drop-off and tells you whether Reeds can serve them. - Quote.
POST /quotesreturns the price and the pickup and delivery times. A quote is valid for 24 hours. - Book.
POST /deliverieswith the quote id books the delivery and charges your wallet (or adds it to your monthly invoice). - Webhooks. Reeds calls your server as the delivery moves from
scheduledtodelivered.
Can't confirm an address yet, or is the item not packed? Create a draft instead. A draft waits in requires_action until you confirm it, and Reeds never sends a rider to an address nobody has confirmed. See Drafts and required actions.
Three ways in
| Way in | Who it is for | How you reach Reeds |
|---|---|---|
| Direct | A business with its own ecommerce platform or system | Call the API with a business account |
| Platform or aggregator | A platform that offers delivery to many merchants, or an aggregator that lists Reeds as a courier | Call the API with a platform account and name the merchant on each delivery. See Platforms. |
| Reeds stores | A merchant running its store on Reeds | Store orders go into the same delivery system from inside Reeds, with no credentials to manage |
